Chair: The chairperson coordinates Parent Advisory Council affairs in cooperation with other executive members. The chairperson makes a sincere effort to understand local conditions in the school and community, and maintains a spirit of loyalty, cooperation and friendliness among the executive and general membership. The chairperson also oversees the business of the PAC. He or She chairs the monthly meetings and they are the primary contact for the PAC for the parents, the school administration and external contacts.
Vice-Chair: The vice-chair assists the chairperson in overseeing the business of the PAC. The vice-chair usually is in the position of taking over the role as Chairperson and learns the duties and responsibilities of the Chairperson in order to preside at meetings in her or his absence.
Treasurer: The Treasurer maintains the financial accounts of the PAC and oversees the banking. He or she also presents a report of finances at each meeting, and an annual report at the AGM. It is also the job of the treasurer to submit annual spending reports to external agencies.
Secretary: The Secretary records the minutes of the monthly meetings and emails a copy to all members of the executive so it may be posted on the PAC bulletin board.
Member At Large: This member is available to help in a lesser capacity with organizing various campaigns and is a good starting point for individuals who have limited time available or who want to learn more about how the PAC Executive works before taking on a position with greater responsibility.
